Funds will be used purchase educational materials

Women in Aviation International received a $3,200 grant from The Sporty's Foundation, whose mission is to ensure a healthy general aviation community for the next generation. The grant will be used to purchase instructional sectional charts to use as a hands-on teaching activity for girls ages 8 to 16 for the September 24, 2016 youth outreach.

As president of Women in Aviation International, I strongly support all efforts to allow Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) to be buried in Arlington National Cemetery, or any military cemetery of the surviving family's choice that is available to other military service personnel.

Adventurer/Pilot will speak at WAI Conference in March

Tracey Curtis-Taylor successfully completed her United Kingdom to Australia flight on January 1, 2016, recreating a pioneering 1930 solo flight by Amy Johnson. Tracey departed Farnborough airport on October 1, 2015, on her solo flight in a 1942 Boeing Stearman named the Spirit of Artemis . Applications Due November 16, 2015

Two deadlines are approaching for individuals interested in applying for a WAI scholarship for 2016. In order to apply, you must be a WAI member as of November 2, 2015. Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than November 16, 2015.
