Fantastic outcome of first Girls in Aviation Day calls for repeat effort

The success of Women in Aviation International's first Girls in Aviation Day requires a repeat performance in 2016. The 2016 Girls in Aviation Day is officially set for Saturday, September 24, 2016. Plans are already underway to make this event even bigger and better than the first.

Will concentrate on educational outreach and opportunities

Three more states issue Girls in Aviation Day proclamations

Florida, Maryland, and South Carolina have joined the list of states which have declared September 26, 2015, as Girls in Aviation Day in their states. In addition, the mayors of New York City and Houston have issued similar proclamations. With the additional three states, the total stands at 29 states and two cities.

Five days to go until September 26, 2015, when this global outreach becomes reality

As September 26 approaches, 49 of Women in Aviation’s chapters are putting the finishing touches on their local Girls in Aviation Day events. Full day of activities changes the face of AirVenture for women

Now in its eighth successful year, WomenVenture has provided a venue for women attending EAA AirVenture Oshkosh to bond with like-minded individuals and have fun as well. WomenVenture Wednesday began at the EAA Nature Center with a sold-out Women in Aviation International Connect breakfast, sponsored by Avemco, and attended by over 360 enthusiastic showgoers. Twenty years of scholarships, ten million dollars awarded

With the announcement of the 2016 WAI scholarship winners in March 2016, WAI's scholarship program will award a cumulative $10,000,000 worth of scholarships to over 1,300 members, changing thousands of lives and launching and enhancing hundreds of aviation careers.

So far, 98 scholarships with a value of more than $480,000 are available

Women in Aviation International today announced the availability of its 2016 scholarships. As of July 1, 2015, 98 separate scholarships with a combined value of more than $480,000 are offered.
