WAI Trailblazers To Be Honored By Boeing

The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour will honor the women of Boeing on Saturday, March 15, 2014, with a book signing and luncheon event to celebrate the publication of Trailblazers: The Women of The Boeing Company . The author and many of the women featured in the book are scheduled to attend.

2014 WAI Pioneer Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

We’re proud to announce that four more inspiring women will be inducted into WAI’s Pioneer Hall of Fame this year. Col. Nancy Currie (ret.), Beryl Markham, Dr. Sally Ride, and Sheila Scott will be honored in a ceremony during the closing banquet of the 25th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference on March 8 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

“We honor these women so that their names and accomplishments are never forgotten,” said Dr. Peggy Chabrian, WAI president and founder. “These are women who didn’t just break down barriers; they opened the door for other women as well.”...

Free Whirly-Girls Memberships Available

The Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund is expanding its sponsorship program to include 12 initial memberships to the organization, valued at $75 each. The sponsorships are available to women with a rotorcraft-helicopter rating, who are not yet Whirly-Girls members, to join at no cost and take advantage of the organization's member benefits including participation in its scholarship program. The memberships will be awarded at HELI-EXPO in Anaheim, California, in February. It is not necessary to be present to be considered. The deadline for application is February 10.
