Peggy Young, 87, the first director of the Museum of Aviation, died January 24 in Alexandria, Virginia, after suffering a stroke.

Peggy became the first director of the Museum of Aviation Heritage, Exhibit and Education Center in 1988. According to her obituary, under her direction the museum, which began with $20 in private funds, two airplanes, a 43-acre site and a great idea, grew into the "Crown Jewel of Middle Georgia." When Peggy retired in 1997 the Peggy B. Young Education Center was dedicated in the Century of Flight Hangar.

The Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame is offering five scholarships in 2014, two of which will be offered for the first time: the Jeff Baum Scholarship and the Robert Payzer Memorial/EAA Chapter 640 Scholarship.

The Jeff Baum Scholarship is a $250 award, established by Avfuel Corporation, for those pursuing a career in aviation business management. The $500 Robert Payzer Memorial/EAA Chapter 640 Scholarship is for students in any aviation or aerospace discipline.
