Arab News reports that 35-year-old Hanadi Al-Hindi is the first woman to be issued a pilot certificate from the General Authority of Civil Aviation, granting her authority to fly in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Hindi flies for Kingdom Holdings Company and already held a commercial pilots license and instrument rating, but was not allowed to fly in her own country because she did not hold a Saudi license.
