Air-Capital-Women.gifFormer NASA astronaut and Army Lt. Col. Charles "Sam" Gemar will be the featured speaker at WAI Air Captial City Chapter's annual fund raising dinner on May 6 at Stearman Field Bar & Grill in Benton, Kansas. Gemar was a crew member on three Space Shuttle Missions.

The Air Capital City Chapter raises funds annually to send low-income girls who participate in a local program called "Future Women in A STEM Career" to Space Camp. In 2013 the chapter sent 25 girls, this year the goal is to send 40.
