Tarrant County College to Honor Six WASP

Tarrant County College (TCC) is recognizing six members of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) on Friday, May 22, 2015. The college has invited elected, community, and industry leaders from the Fort Worth, Texas area to be in attendance when the veterans tour a Beechcraft E183-9700, the personal plane of Jacqueline Cochrane, founder and director of the WASP program. Curt Landrum, TCC retired associate aviation professor and current adjunct instructor, has led a team of volunteers to restore the aircraft. Vaughn College to Honor WASP Bee Haydu

World War II veteran Bernice “Bee” Falk Haydu, WAI 42360, a member of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) will be awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Vaughn College during its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16, 2015. The ceremony will be held in the William B. DeCota Hangar beginning at 10 a.m. Queens Borough President Melinda Katz will deliver the commencement address to more than 150 graduates.
