Former astronaut and fighter pilot Robert “Hoot” Gibson will speak at this year’s inaugural student luncheon on Friday, March 11, during the International Women in Aviation Conference.

Hoot flew five missions aboard space shuttles Challenger, Columbia, Atlantis, and Endeavour. He was a pilot for Southwest Airlines for 10 years, and has competed in the Reno National Championship Air Races since 1998 in the unlimited and jet classes, most recently winning the Unlimited Gold Race in Strega in September 2015

New this year, conference attendees with student registrations will attend a special student luncheon on Friday. This special event allows students the opportunity to network exclusively with their peers before diving into a full afternoon of educational sessions and exhibit hall activities.
