CAP Unveils Pilot Scholarship Program for Cadets

The Civil Air Patrol has announced a program designed to expand opportunities to learn to fly for its young members.

National Advanced Flight Academy will provide private pilot scholarships valued at $16,000 to five CAP cadets in 2017. The scholarships will offer the opportunity to obtain a Class III Medical and student pilot certificate, and take the FAA private pilot knowledge course.

Applications must be submitted from December 1, 2016-January 15, 2017, via the CAP scholarship module on e-Services. Scholarships will be awarded on March 30, 2017, and the flight training...

WomenVenture Expanding in 2017

WAI members attending EAA AirVenture Oshkosh will have a greater opportunity to participate in WomenVenture events during the annual gathering as the programming is expanding to include events throughout the week. Wednesday, July 27, will be a day of celebration within AirVenture’s “aviation family reunion” culture. It will include the Women in Aviation breakfast at 8 a.m. and annual group photo on Boeing Plaza at 11 a.m., plus the WomenVenture Power Lunch at EAA’s Theater in the Woods.
