Now in its ninth successful year, WomenVenture activities during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh were expanded to cover the entire week. Wednesday, July 27, was declared Women’s Day, providing women a way to connect during the annual fly-in convention while having Oshkosh-style fun at the same time.

CAF Announces Program to Honor WASP

The Commemorative Air Force has announced a program to honor the Women Airforce Service Pilots. The newest addition to the CAF national education outreach program is CAF RISE ABOVE: WASP, an initiative to bring the legacy of the WASP to a nationwide auidence.

The program is centered on a dynamic film to be created by award-winning Hemlock Films. It will combine historical footage, interviews with surviving WASP, and incredible flying scenes shot with the CAF's unparalleled collection...

Meeting planned for September 16-17, 2016

Women in Aviation International has a regional conference planned in Seattle, Washington, September 16-17, 2016. The two-day regional conference will be held at Seattle’s famed Museum of Flight and the Seattle Airport Marriott and begins with a tour of the Boeing Company headquarters.

First Female Chief for Air Force Reserve

Maj. Gen. Maryanne Miller will assume leadership of the Air Force Reserve Command at the Museum of Aviation in a ceremony July 15. Miller will become the first female in the history of the Air Force Reserve to be Chief of the Air Force Reserve and commander of the Air Force Reserve Command. Before taking command, Miller will be promoted to Lieutenant General.

Flying Aviation Expo Set for October 20-22

The 2016 Flying Aviation Expo is set to take place at the Palm Springs International Airport, October 20-22. The event, now in its third year is presented by Sheyden Precision Eyewear and is expected to draw more than 5,000 pilots and industry experts to share knowledge, showcase new products, and offer hands-on demonstrations.
